Although SASSA has spelled out the official dates on which Social Grants will be paid through September and October 2025, millions of other recipients – social grants for old-age grants, disability grants, support grants for children – must receive their payments on time. Grant payment dates have been fixed according to the grant stipends so that the beneficiaries can have a clue about the payments on which they should expect and possibly begin provisions for them.
Dates to take note of for grant payments in September 2025
The following is the pay schedule by Sassa for September 2025:
- Grant Type:Older Persons Grant (Old Age)
- Payment Date: Tuesday, 2nd September 2025
- Disability Grant: Wednesday, 3rd September 2025
- Child Support Grants and All Other Grants: Thursday, 4th September 2025
Beneficiaries should make a note that these are the days on which money is made available into the accounts of beneficiaries. They are, however, not forced to take out the entire amount on that specific day. One may only also withdraw the money after several days or use the Golden SASSA cards to avoid long queues and even being in unsafe areas.
Payments of Grants from October 2025: When Will Money Be Received?
Now that the pay days for the whole month of October 2025 have been announced, recipients should turn their attention to these days:
- Grant Type: Older Persons Grant
- Payout Date:Thursday, 2 October 2025
- Disability Grant: Friday, 3 October 2025
- Child Grants and All Other Grants: Monday, 6 October 2025
Different Amounts for Different Grants: New Rates
SASSA would usually pay dues covering these periods after making deductions on the effective days of payment. Some of these dues, among others, are:
- Older Persons (Age 60-74) & Disability Grant: R2,315 per month
- Older Persons Grant (75+ years): R2,335
- Child Support Grant: R560
- Foster Care Grant: R1,250
- SRD Grant: R370
Beneficiaries are entitled almost all of the above for the two months of September and October 2025.
A Payment Window for SRD Beneficiaries in Respect of the September Installments
Payments in terms of the SRD for September shall be effected from the 20th until the 27th of September 2025, both days inclusive of the period. It is expected that credits would require two to three days once the amounts have been transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Preparing Beneficiaries
The beneficiary shall be advised before receiving the grant:
- to check entries with SASSA, such as names and banking details, as these will be necessary for the smooth processing of the payment;
- on when to cash out their money and to consider how much they will require for immediate withdrawal; to simply not stand in the queue to withdraw on the first day of payouts; to withdraw as much as possible from bank counter services using SASSA cards or through ATMs;
- to listen to announcements made by the Organ related to changes in payout dates owing to public holidays or technical reasons;
- to keep all original IDs and other related documents ready in case further verification is needed;
- to check their SRD status on the official site, via the WhatsApp service, or even by physically visiting SASSA offices close to them.
