- Head to the online SASSA SRD portal at srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Fill in some required personal information, such as your ID number and the cell number you used when applying.
- Under “Check Status,” you may see statuses like: Approved, Pending, Declined, Referred, etc.
- Later, updates can also be received via WhatsApp and calling centers apart from the portal.

The R370 SRD payment timeframe for September 2025 runs from 23 to 30 September. Beneficiaries with approved claims should then have their funds processed between these dates.
Definition of Each Status
Here is what the different status messages mean by the “Check status” option:
- Pending/Awaiting: Application submitted and in the process of evaluation.
- Approved: Application has been successful, and a date for payment will be communicated.
- Declined: Application has not been successful, perhaps for reasons such as missing documents, ineligibility, or failure to meet requirements.
